This is my experience when i landed into a job which required me to work from "Gods own Country" - Kerala
Before that there's other things to be said.,being a bangalorean i enjoyed my life to the fullest. Great family, friends and a peaceful neighborhood to live in.,then one day i got a call from one of the HR of Kalkitech Communications. She said that i've been selected as a "Test Engineer" in their company, i felt happier than ever as i got a job which is on Power Domain and its Product based Testing.
I had been given an appointment to meet the manager, so that i could get clear picture about the domain and the working environment. But as i reached the venue i saw another guy by name Sangamesh who was also appointed for test engineer post, as we chatted up for some time the receptionist asked us to wait in a conference hall. There came the manager, i was quite familiar with him as he was the one who interviewed me. He started off with regular introduction about company(brief) and rules, during the introduction he mentioned that there are company product outlets in UAE, USA and INDIA(Bangalore and Cochin). Then came the big fat truth that the work place is not in bangalore branch but in kochin branch, i was okay with the deal as i was bit familiar with Tamil and had thought that both languages(tamil and malayalam) doesn't have much difference. Manager started explaining the workplace in cochin, he said that the company is in a village and its quite a good place to work at and even assured us that we would enjoy the peaceful environment around.
Even sangamesh accepted to join the Cochin branch, as we thought that the company would at least be close to the cochin city and we could get a good accommodation and food. Finally the day came to leave to "Gods own Country" - Kerala.
The company had provided the train tickets and had reserved a hotel room to stay until we find a house or a room to stay, but as i reached the railway station in bangalore the other guy(sangamesh) was yet to come. I tried to contact him and know about his whereabouts, but his cell phone was off. I waited for him till the train moved and then lost hopes on him and started enjoying my journey. But there was one huge pain in my heart as i had to leave my parents for the first time in my life, even my mom would have the same pain, but considering my career mom let me go.
I'm sure many of you would have gone through same pain when leaving your beloved 1s.,do share the moment.... I'm sure you will feel better.
